If you don't have to go and get your car checked then i would say get one of the ebay intakes. I'm sure that alot of people would argue with me but......A tube is a tube. There are only so many ways you can dress up an aluminum intake tube. And if anyone has an arguement saying that aem or injen is soooo great I would like them to say why they are so great and actually have evidence. Not just "oh, my buddy has this, or oh brothers car did that", save yourself a couple hundred bucks.

yeah it doesn't really matter what intake you get but i prefer AEM, j's racing, injen etc because it feels more 'reassuring'

I got a Hayame intake. It was my first upgrade to my new car and it's loud as hell. After I put it in I wanted to see how loud it would go. I was at WOT w/ VTEC kicking and people could hear it a block and a half away. I've never had an intake that loud before. Is it maybe the design and length of pipe? The type of filter? If all intakes are the same, why is this one so much louder than my other ones?

"A Tube is a tube" was my thinking exactly. And since I am here in Maine, my emissions arent tested or checked. Or not that I believe. Indeed I want to put money into my car, but shelling out 200+ dollars for an alumanum tube, when I could get it for 50 dollars shipped, was a bit rediculous. Especially since im going to have to mod this civic on a tight budget.

this topic can go on and on about personal preference... i have yet to see anyone prove they work the same in the fact that they make the same hp and tq on a dyno... i agree with a few and rather get the brand names bc u are assured of the quality and performance, that just me and a few tho...
