Maybe stupid but, is there a specification for the pebbles used in the sandboxes on road courses?
Spec as in size or composition of the pebble at particular courses or courses designed for specific series?
Odd question maybe but I work at a golf course and the sand used in the traps must be a certain spec and there are of course different grades and ironically you can find this info from PGA info sites.
I'm thinking of Screens to protect some openings, air ducting for brakes, more importantly the radiator "just in case"
And the screens vary in mesh size spacing. Of course I wouldn't want to restrict the openings as much as possible.
If you have screens protecting similar types of openings, what size is it and how did you decide upon it? Or is there no method to the madness?
Or am I just silly and or nutz for asking this altogether?
Any info is of course appreciated as always.

I was watching the Canadian GP on ABC a few years ago. I think they were saying the FIA uses certain kind of pebble. Sorry if I'm too vague, but maybe if you look around on Google for track prep at FIA races , or something along those lines, you may find your answer.
I seem to recall that you are allowed to us a 1/4 inch mesh screen in front of radiators, oil coolers, etc. to reduce damage from projectiles.
I wouldn't worry about too much damage from gravel trap gravel that gets up on the road. The front ends of racecars are always being barraged by tiny bits of pebbles, grit, rubber, etc. that is being kicked up by cars but other than some well placed helicopter tape and some mesh in front of your coolers, there is not much that is likely to cuase much damage. If there is big stuff kicked up somehow with your name on it, there isn't a lot that can be done to defend against it.
