At work today i noticed a very sharp, grey 4 door accord EX-i with a 5 speed. I have never heard of an EX-i model. How does it differ from the EX?

Where are you from? It was probably an EX-L. The "L" is just for leather.

 

No such thing as a 4th gen EX-i. The 3rd gen had LX-i but no EX-i.

 

I had heard of the LX-i also thats why i was puzzled.Im from toledo an i thought that maybe it was canadian. I dont know, ill check it out more next time i see it. Thanks

 

Wrong-o! there was very definitely a 3rd gen EXi!! I had one for 425k km. Best car I ever had. Much as I like my current 4th gen ('92 LX), it is not the car that the '88 EXi was. Fantastic car on long road trips - fast, light and comfortable it could eat huge stretches of the Trans Canada and I'd still arrive fresh.....

The 3rd gen could be a Canada only model for sure 'cause there actually seems to be a lot of EXi _3rd gens_ around up here. However the original question was about 4th gens. I tend to collect up a lot of literature on any car I have (still got the manuals for my '66 Healy! ) and I've never seen reference to an EXi in any 4th gen literature. We have EX's and EXR's.... ???

definitely is a Canadian thing - as the comedian says in Canada the 5 is on the _left_ of the decimal point!!!
