why are the 88's lighter than the 89's?

as the topic says. both dx's and there is a 100 pound difference

Ya, but as soon as you add back in the larger axles and hubs, sway bars, larger brakes, and all the rest of the performance goodies that the HF's lack, you're back to almost the weight of a regular STD (DX)... (minus the rear wiper arm and motor, which is about 3 - 4 lbs)

yeah, that is true, with adding all that stuff on will make the hf weigh more.......but on the plus, side, you don't have to convert it from dpfi, to mpfi, the hf's and si's are already multi port.

i used to have a white 90hf, sold it, now i have a black 88hf, and i can tell the 100lb difference.........but besides the weight factor, the main reason i hated my 90, was b/c the seat belts were mounted on the damm door, which got annoying getting in and out of it., my 88, mounted on the pillar, just like its supposed to be

umm yea it is 100lbs is a big deal if yourheavy into racing and weight is as important as hp
