Default JDM cluster+ stock cluster??

I have a spare jdm cluster laying around and it is missing the plug ins for the harness so it is basically useless. My question is do you guys think I could take the tach that redlines at 8k out of the jdm cluster and put it into my dx cluster? Dont I need an electronic speed sensor? what do you guys think about this?

well, i was able to put a jdm DA teg tach into a usdm DA teg cluster, it all worked, all the screws and evrything were the exact same, i really think that would work, because the vss is for the speedo only. well good luck keep the forum update when your done.

to anyone that might care or be halfway interested, the jdm tach does not work in a usdm cluster. Bolt patterns are different and the shape of the gauge is different. Im sure you could make it work somehow but i just dont think its worth it.

Good info, I was wondering that myself.

If you have no use for the JDM cluster and want to sell it let me know.

I tried it on a 89 dx cluster. The 90-91 cluster might be able to accept the jdm tach...i didnt think about that

Isn't the tach's face too small to fill the hole in the non JDM cluster?

That's what it looks like when I compare pictures.

I'm still interested in it.
