New W/ Questions
Ok i am dealing w/ a 90 HB DX & it has the stock D15b motor, i wanted to do a ITR swap but then i realized how much time & hastle that was so i decided to go w/ a B16a but now i am thinking about just changing the tranny & head.
Also the front end is kinda messed up & i was thinking about doing the SiR front end. Does anyone have any "hook-ups" on these kits?
My question pretty much is what tranny will fit the D15b block & still remain cable, also what head & is it worth changing the head.
any advise will help & be much appricated, Thanks

I know that the B series wont work, but right now i have a piece of Sh*t 4 speed tranny & want a 5 speed, but i dont know what tranny wil fit the stock D15b block.
Thanks,
Thanks,
I have a crx SI tranny for sale. It'll bolt right up to your block and is still cable. Much better gearing.
You could try and find a sohc vtec head and go that way, but other than that, I'd suggest doing a DPFI-MPFI swap. That along with the SI tranny will make a huge difference in how your car feels.
I see you're in Palm Desert. I'm local. Email me if you are interested in the tranny.

Do the itr swap. It's not a hastle to install. it doesn't take alot of time either.
Sounds to me like you know what you want to do but you're scared to attempt it.
if you can't afford a type r get a b16. Then save up for a b18c shortblock.
That's what i'm doing.

Does anyone know about the axles?
Also i am concidering doing a "mini-me" head swap. now when i swap the head which intake man. should i use?
The stock D15B2 then convert it to mpfi?
If i use the the Z6 intake manifold will that automatically convert me to mpfi?
Does this sound corect or even possible: Z6 head on a B2 block?
Am i getting the hang on this??
Sorry guys i am really new to this (former DSM guy)
Thanks Again, Mike-

It's possible and it does all work together.
The B2 has 2 injectors and works much like a caburator - primary and secondary injector both mounted in the throttle body.
All the other SOHC motors from (except the stupid Civic STD) 1988 and newer are MPFI with 4 injectors mounted so they shoot into the intake ports of the head.
Converting to MPFI is a dramatic performance increase.
However, you could run the DPFI intake manifolld on the Z6. You would NOT want to hook up VTEC and you would NOT want to rev that setup high. The ECU that controls the DPFI injection doesn't do well with VTEC. Revving the crap out of the Z6 head without VTEC is just a lot of unecessary wear and tear.

To answer your other question about the SiR front, check out http://passwordjdm.com. Its a little pricey, especially if you have to get it painted, but I'd say its well worth it because it opens some more options.
