Im talking about the orange thing that is wraped around the the extra crank case breather right above the manifold.
Anyone know whats it called and where I can get some.
Thanks!

I get my Firesleeve from them since they're local with some of the best Aeroquip pricing I've seen thus far. Summit can probably also get it too if you look it up by part number or call them with a part number and description.

Whoa nice engine bay! Got any more/bigger pics? What manifold is that?
Also is that thermal insulation or just "fire proofing"?

It's a thermal insulator/deterrent. The outer sleeve is high temp silicone and the inner part is a fiberglass weave.
It's also not fire proof. It's fire retardent.
I've used it on a turbo oil feed line that sits an inch from the manifold and it has yet to deteriorate or harden from the heat after 6 months.

I gues this stuff is pretty good then. I need to get some for my oil return since thats about 1 inch from my DP.

Looks like a Negative Crankcase Ventilation (NCV) system. Uses the scavenging effect from the exhaust to vent the crankcase instead of using engine vacuum.
I could be wrong, though, but this sort of system has been used by V-8 guys for many years.

It could also be either a vacuum (electric or mechanical) pump, or a dry sump oiling system utilizing a couple of scavenge points on the valve cover.

Id get this stuff for the job that it does rather than the way it looks. Regular heat wrap wont perform like this kind will since this one is designed to be used over SS hoses. Ive never seen anyone use regular heat wrap over SS -AN hose or any other type of hose for that matter, only usually exhuast piping.

That stuff is pretty damn expensive, so if I don't need the thermal insulation/fire retardant characteristics, I'll just wrap the braided line in 3M Super 33+ electrical tape to keep it from chafing against nearby items.
You can also use the silvery-type fiberglass sleeves for that purpose too. I think DEI has that stuff. There's another company where I know you can get it from, but I don't remember the name off the top of my head.
