i heard that if you disconect these lines your TB will be colder. is this true? where are thease lines? can i see a pic of them?
This is for a DPFI TB.

i just ordered a outlaw engineering gasket set and they recommend that in their instructions. but in winter they suggest going back to the original design.

It's all speculation as far as I have heard.
No dyno gains have been reported from doing this mod.
Once the engine heats up, the metal will take in heat and the TB's going to get warmed up.
With the Outlaw gasket set it would make sense, but not on a stock car.

I have never heard any gains from doing this, the only thing I have seen from this was a surging idle. Customer complains car is surging, hooked the tb lines back up and it fixed the problem.

this is true, I did on my 88 dx with a d16z6 swap, and when car is cold it will even die because idle starts surging, once the car gets its normal temperature it doesnt do it anymore.
sucks!
no improvement!

U guys need to make sure you are disconnecting the right coolant lines. I have done it to my SOHC ZC and my B17 with NO problems whatsoever. As for gains, hell i dont know and probably never will, but its actually easier to just bypass the TB when replacing the hoses (for preventive maintanance reasons). LEAVE the idle air control valve (IACV) and the fast idle thermo valve (FITV, which is what causes the surging idle) lines in place, do not disconnect/bypass those.

I removed mine ages ago after swapping to a bored out h22a tb, no idle problems at all. I don't see how it would cause idle problems since it's just a bit of pipe, maybe you guys are talking about bypassing the FITV which is located on the TB of some hondas?
