Default How hard does your R pull?

Especially for you stock or mostly stock R's, how hard does your car pull? Does it put you solidly back into your seat to where it takes some definite effort to sit forward at WOT between 6-8.4k in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd? I know this is very relative and subjective to opinion but I would really appreciate your guys input. TIA.

I think this feeling you are trying to describe best relates to the torque output of the motor. The higher the torque - the stronger the "pulling" feeling is going to be.

It pulls hard enough to pass Lexus ES300 from 70-110 with ease (both at WOT).

I guess maybe it would help if I describe why I ask.

I hage a piece of cash I am going to use to upgrade one part of my car. I am either going to do engine or suspension, either one would make me happy, no specific preference. What I want out of my engine is not so much specific et's or acceleration figures, but to be firmly placed into my seat at wot in the upper rev ranges like 5.5-6k+. I want to achive this with at most a set of moderate cams like toda a's or the JUN 2/R cam setup demonstrated by Mike K, a new IM etc. I don't want to rev too much past 8.5k though. I know it will not be like that crazy fixed up 69 z28 I rode in once but is this realistic or just a pipe dream? BTW, this would be at elevations between 5-8k. Once again TIA.

If I remember correctly, Wyoming has a flat stretch of road mixed with some decent rises (was passing through Casper,WY in route to Billings, MT.) If you need the some kick to climb the hills, you definitely need some mild to wild cams. The question is can you find a place to dyno that does a good job on imports in WY?

I just have to reiterate: the ats final drive will definitely make you FEEL more acceleration. Expect low 14's with this one mod. 3rd gear pulls very nicely, btw.

And with a mild cam setup like the cheap jun2 and portflow on the intake side, you'll be loving it. Or of course some spec a's or spoon cams, etc...

"Wyoming has a flat stretch of road mixed with some decent rises " Yep, thats about it, oh and a whopping 400,000 people. nice scenery though. I'm in the south east corner so Colorado isn't too far away, I hope to find a good shop down there.

Hills arn't really a problem, 5th takes care of them fine. I just want that satisfying feeling of downshifting into 2nd or 3rd and getting slapped to my seat to the point that I can't just sit up with ease, I don't really want a choice in the matter. So far toda A's and related harware as well as an ATS final drive, which would unfortunately put me beyond my budget. I have about $1500 to spend on equipment. Is this realistic or do I need to wake up?. Thanks again.
