Default Need help ASAP

Hey guys,

I just picked up an 87 Accord LX (Carb'ed) cheap to use as a DD until I can put the new motor in my starion...

I was driving it home from CT when it would kinda begin to struggle to run unless I put in the clutch and revved the **** out of it then it would begin to run okay for a bit...sometimes it would just stall if I was crusin and I'd put it in 2nd gear and pop start it and it would be okay for a bit...but I was about an hour from home and it began stumbling and then it wouldnt start back up again..at all!!! The battery would crank, but I dont think it was fast enough cranking..although it should have worked...and the last part was that I lost ~2 quarts of oil out of nowhere. The whole time I was driving i was checkin the gauges and I checked the oil and and all fluids before I began driving the car and they were okay...

I am leaving in 1 hour to pick the car up off of I-84 or else it will get towed. Can anyone help me?!

thanks
mike

It's the comment problem for old honda.
I used to have a 1982 civic, almost the same probem. I usually keep turning the key for 30 minutes and step on the gas when it want to start sometimes.

As far as the running rough...you just need to pull the card and clean it out...possibly rebuild. The oil consumption could be from fried piston rings...but 2 quarts sounds pretty serious. Check the block over and look for holes. If no luck then is the car worth putting in the shop?

Hey Guys, thanks for the help..

Well, I determinded its a fuel problem.

If I spray carb cleaner ( I know I know lol I ran out of starter fluid and working on the side of I-84 during rush hour isnt exactly fun ) the car will start and run as long as fluid is being fed to it...I determinded either fuel pump or fuel filter. Does this sound right to you?? There are two filters, right? My conquest had ...SIX! Well, got the car towed somewhere 1hr south of me (alot closer then 3hrs away it was before) for $150-- money I dont have!

I would like to take a picture of the carb to show you guys what I think does NOT look right..its a ciruclar "cam" attached to the throttle cable that opens the flap in the carb. It doesnt open it nearly enough, although I ajdusted the throttle cable to help a little bit.

Does my problem sound like a fuel delievry issue or something else?

BTW: I determined the oil being shot out as a result of too much crankcase pressure..that exhaust is CLOGGED. It happened on my old Landcruiser. Hope I didnt blow a major seal

Anyway, thanks for the help guys Think tis the filter?
