Accord/Prelude Transmission Question
I am putting a H23 transmission in a 2000 Accord. I have access to a 1999 accord tranny for very cheap. I was wondering if the outer casing of the accord transmission will bolt onto the H23 transmission, or if I have to, will the entire internals swap between the 2 transmissions. This route is a lot cheaper then putting in a 97 and up Prelude trans. Does anyone know if this is possible to do or has done it, if I could just swap the outer casing that would be great and very easy. Thanks for the help.
are you putting this into your f23?
im pretty sure an h23 tranny will bolt on to the f23. the blocks look identical to the f22b1

Yea, I am almost certain the transmission will bolt on to the block, the problem is that the mount on the H23 transmission is different than on the F23 transmission. I want to use the casing from a F23 transmission so that I can use the stock mount. So I wanted to know if the outside casing of the F23 trans, would switch to the H23 trans. If not, will the whole internals of the 2 switch together. It would be really simple if I could just switch the outside housing. I can easily unbolt it and switch it. Its not too bad to switch all the internals, but I don't want to do it, if I don't have too.
you can use the f23 transmission bracket on the h23 and that's that you don't have to use the h23 bracket/mount unless the tranny is from an accord 90-97 even then all u have to do is tap for threads.
