Default emissions/nitrogen oxides

ok, ive tested 6 times now. and my oxides of nitrogen are still .03% too high. i dont know what else i can do to get it to drop that next .03% in order to pass.

any ideas???

PLEASE!!

so far ive put in a new air filter, made sure the timing is correct, cleaned my injectors, etc.

any one have suggestions?? i could use them.

also if i completely remove the air filter just for the test do you think that will get rid of that pesky .03%??

TIA

I read that if you mix in alcohol in the gas it will be at like 103 octane...and then it should (should) burn cleaner and have lower emissions. But i don't know if you should do it because it could mess up something.

Use very little Alcohol and some octane booster, Remove your air filter, maybe turn you fuel pressure down a 1lb or two I dont really know I live on the wrong side of the country..dont need to deal with that crap.

Just go to auto store and fine some really strong system flusher like sea foam or something like it.I know there are some others brands but cant think of the names.
that should help.Alcohol would burn but you gotta mix it just right too much and you fudge something up and to little is not gonna do much.

NoX - the heat in your combustion chamer is too high.

Created from running in a lean condition.

What engine do you have in your car?
(checking to see if you have an EGR system)

When is the last time you changed your O2 sensor?
(When the start to go bad, they get "lazy". They don't throw a code, but your engine runs lean until the O2 catches up with itself)

What octane fuel did you run for the test?
(Too low of an octane will burn too fast in the compression stroke and almost detonate... creates internal heat)

What mods do you have you done to the engine?

I would suggest you DON'T "fake" the test with additives in your gas. Raising the octane too high may create an unburnt fuel problem and then other readings on the smog test WILL go up.

My guess is that your O2 sensor is bad - very typical.

i have the stock engine. dx 1.5, yes i said stock. I have never changed the o2 sensor. how much $$bling will that cost?

i run 87 octane, and i did throw alcy in there the test before this. it burned pretty good. i added maybe 2 cups of it.

so whadda ya think?

thanks for the info
