Default components and mounting them

where do most people mount the crossover that comes with a component set? This is my first dealing with this and am not sure where the best place is to mount. Also do you power it off of the deck or the distrubution block i am using for the amps?

in the doors, hidden, just put them in a plastic bag and tape it shut, to protect them from getting any kind of water damage

If they they come with component speakers, then they are passive xovers and do not need power,[DO NOT HOOK THEM TO POWER] there is a amp input and a woofer and tweeter output, you can use the amp in deck or [better] a bigger amp, with a high pass xover in it. speaker output from amp to amp input on passive xover.

As for mounting xovers I agree put them inside the door, better to only have to run one speaker wire into door then two, but I have always been able to find enough room for them between door panel and vapor barrier,so you don't need to bag them or worry their going to get wet.

hope this helps. 94

this helps some. the components are the kicker 65.2. I wasn't thinking last night when i posted that the Input + and - were for power and not speaker. I get the moron award for the day. Thanks for the input though, is appreciated

In the trunk, where mine are
Easier to get to and adjust if in the trunk
I didnt like the idea of having my x-overs in my doors, prone to rattles, condensation, etc.....

^ the only bad part about the trunk is running the two extra sets of wires to the mounting location.

What adjustments, set it forget it, mount them between door panel and vaper barrier, [mount them] no rattles,[inside vaper barrier] no condensation. 94
