Default afc question (already did a search)

Lets say that I have a stock d16z6 with an S-AFC installed,

if I was to set it to +50% across the board would I feel a

difference? If set at -50% all the way would the engine

just bog and shut off?

Why would you put a SAFC on a VTEC engine?
You would need a VAFC.

You can't just start setting ****..it has to be DYNO tuned.

only way to set the SAFC is on a dyno. since you have a d16z6 you should try to trade your safc for a vafc if you can.

Only reason I didn't fork over the extra 20 bucks for the "Vtec" option

on the AFC is because I'm going to be boosted w/ the "AFC-HACK".

the afc will just add or subtract fuel... unless you have mods dont change any of the settings... and when you do install mods.. take it to the dyno and let them tune it. (unless you have your own wideband)

Both of the above replies you received are correct.

An S-AFC has no provision for tuning the VTEC crossover, and since your engine has VTEC, you would be better-off with a V-AFC and it's VTEC tuning capabilities. This is not to say that an S-AFC won't function with your setup, it simply means that the V-AFC would give you more flexibility in tuning.

Either device should be tuned using a dyno. Simply changing settings randomly will most likely do more harm than good, and at worst could ruin your engine. If you aren't prepared to have the unit properly tuned, your money would be better spent on a different upgrade.

In that case, you might want to consider returning the unit completely and opting for an Uberdata setup.

If you use the H-T Search function, you'll come up with a ton of threads regarding various Uberdata topics.

I don't think I wired my afc right. If I make small changes to fuel settings, It drives absolutely the same.

also with a VAFC it allows you to alter the fuel correction after your VTEC crossover as where the SAFC doesn't have that option.
