b series oil pump

Default problems with b series oil pump

i'm having a problem with my oil pump i've broken 4 pumps in the last two days
and one of the pumps had pro drive gears in it i don't know why this is happening
i'm looking in to an exteral pump but all the ones i've seen are not streetable

have you had your min bearings align bored? if so you put added stress on the oil pump because it moved the crank shaft up further.

the only thing that would cause that is extremely poor crank balancing

Do you still use a stock harmonic balancer. Switch to a Fluidampr.
Also the post on the align bore is correct also.

I didnt know the main bearings were supposed to be align bored. Earl was my block checked for that?

Its a harmonic damper that reduces crankshaft vibrations.

how much do they run, and how neccesary are they for our engines. also are they underdrive as well or stock diameter pulleys??? sorry to jack the thread.

You want to avoid align boring as it can throw the oil pump gears out of proper alignment
