I am considering buying an older model(1990-1999) Civic or similar type vehicle with the idea of upgrading it. New motor, paint, tires and maybe some trim. I want something fun to drive and fast(faster than a stock V6 Accord would do).
It also has to be somewhat practical, it will be my commuter car as well.
I was thinking around 2 or 3K for the car, but the upgrades I am unsure about.
Any recommendations(with ~ costs )

here are a few to get you started . . .

 

Look for a 92-95 civic. i personally am partial to hatch's but the coupe is still better than the 4 door. These years can ge found for fairly cheap and usually in decent condition. they are also easy to sway parts on to as they share a lot of chassis characteristics with the DC Integra. They are pretty light to.

You cas find different models with Power everything and a sun roof, or you can find a 2000 pound hatch with no AC thats just beggin for a swap.

It really depends on what you want, but in the 2,000-4,000 dollar price range I would recomend a 92-95 civic
