how long it takes to replace the water pump on integra 1995?? help
how long it takes, and what is the best way to do it please let me know if you have done it before , any tricks, so i can save time when i try thanks alot
Well..... so I haven't done it myself, but I have paid to have it done afew times. My advise is, don't waste your time unless you plan to do the timing belt at the same time. You will kick yourself if you don't. Second, you can get a Haynes manual at the parts store for $15.
i've installed a water pump on a civic before. it's very similar to an integra, i'd think. it took me almost 7 hours with friends helping, not counting cam timing. youll need to remove practically everything to get to the water pump then once you get it in, you have to get a timing gun to set the timing back to top dead center, etc
...so i'd suggest shelling out the $300 (not sure exactly) to have honda/acura do it. and wraith is right, wait till you do the timing belt as well, more economical.
is the haynes manual better than the helms? never seen the haynes before.

It's a half of a 6 pack job. It takes most veterans about 3 hours max to do it if you're pretty productive, valve adjustment included, but the time needed to refill the coolant and bleed the cooling system isn't included.
There's no need for a timing gun.
You will need a way to remove the crankshaft pulley. You can either use the Moroso crank pulley holder tool (my preference), or lock the flywheel with a screwdriver (I don't remember how well that works b/c it's been a while since I've had to do it). Then use a breaker bar to break teh bolt loose.
If you have a big enough air compressor and impact gun, you can use that too. Most of the impact stuff I've tried to use can't cut it.
Wear gloves where possible when loosening bolts in that area. I've gashed myself several times quite severely before...on plastic if you can believe it.

It highly depends on experience, tools, facilites, help available if any, etc.
At the dealership where my friend works, on a lift and using air tools and all that, I could probably do it in a couple of hours. In fact I will be going up there very soon to change my timing belt, water pump, and timing belt tensioner pulley.
You don't need a timing light, because you're only lining up the cam timing between the cam gears and crank pulley. The ignition timing doesn't change.

if your going to do the waterpump, do the belts, crank seal, cam seals, and valve cover gasket
` it's the other ish* people tend to neglect, but well worth the extra effort and time.
