i have a 1998 hond civic lx, last week my check engine light came on, I've checked everything that i can think of but still the light stays on, can someone help me out and give me some ideas of what it could be.. Thanks

 

Read the fault code? Around here, places like AutoZone will plug in an OBD-2 reader & read the code for free. Get them to tell you the actual code #, not just the guy's description. Sometimes they get kinda 'creative' when they try to describe what's causing it...

If not, search here & the Civic forum for reading codes. There should be a plug somewhere, you jumper it with a paperclip or something. Then the check-engine light flashes a code.

(There's gotta be 200 different things that can possibly set off that light.)
