Default tranny problem

When i shift normal 3000-4000 if shifts smooth, when i go to about 5000 it feels like it kinda pop outta 1st and when i shift anytime after vtec (5800) into 2nd it will make like a grind and not let me go into gear for a couple of seconds.. Is this caused by a syncro or something else? THIS ONLY HAPPENS FROM 1ST-2ND EVERYOTHER GEAR IS FINE.

this could be do to many things, wear and tear sounds like to me.

*Maybe it is being pushed to hard and you need to change your clutch.

*Could be wrong shifting technique.

*other than that I don't know.

Seems like you're synchros are going out since you are grinding at a higher rpm. Best thing to do is flush your tranny, get some GM Synchromesh with Friction Modifier in it from a GM Dealer and pop some in. It might help within 500 miles.

yup, sounds exactly like the perfect example of a syncro grind

Everyone recommends Synchromesh, do you know it is good from experience or are you just spouting information you heard? (not trying to be an ***, I just don't like it when people recommend stuff they "heard" about)

i tried it in my accord... seems to shift a little smoother... its not going to fix your problem if your sychro is gone but if its just grinding it might... go to autozone and get the penzoil synchromesh its the exact same stuff for like half the price... i say might as well give it a shot.. its only gonna cost you about 10 bucks and about 45 minutes of work...
