A couple questions about D-Stock modifications
1) Exhaust: Any part of the exhaust system beyond (downstream from) the header/manifold or catalytic converter, if so equipped, may be substituted provided the system meets the requirements of 3.5. Stainless steel heat exchangers are permitted only if the physical dimensions and configuration remain unchanged. Modifications of any type, including additions to or removal of, the catalytic converters, thermal reactors, or any other pollution control devices in the exhaust system are not allowed and the system must be operable. Replacement catalytic converters must be OEM if the vehicle has not exceeded the 5-year/50,000 mile warranty period as mandated by the EPA. Converters must be of the same type and size and used in the same location as the original equipment converter(s). This does not allow for a high performance unit. If the vehicle has exceeded the 5 year/50,000 mile warranty period, replacement catalytic converters must be OEM-type as per Section 13.
Does this mean I can use any cat-back exhaust and still be in stock class?
2) Was there any Factory Installed Options for the type-r that are legal for stock class(suspension, ice box, etc...)?
I am pretty much trying to do as much as I can to the car, but stay in D-stock for auto-x, so any sugestions would be great.

1) Yes. Not much hp to be gained, but you can shave a little weight.
2) None.
Run it stock in DS with Hoosiers and an alignment (a little toe out front and rear). That setup is good enough for a top 5 spot if driven right. A couple guys are running larger front bars (Fitzpatrick and Grainger), but I'm not convinced it's making them any faster. If you're seriously committed then get your revalved Koni's front and rear, but honestly they're not needed to trophy winning car in DS. The OEM shocks are just that good!

what he said. well, except for the Koni thing... I had them on my R and liked the difference in handling through transitions.
Christian, who likes R's but thinks his hatchcrap is more fun...
edit:
emwavey's right about the wheel thing... I've got a set of lightweight (11lb) autox wheels for sale that I used on my R. Not sure if you're looking for any though.

Cat-back is legal in stock class.
Adjustable shocks (not springs)... R-compound tires... Evolution Driving School or Lots of seat time.
Fluids (Oil, Trans, and Brake)
Lighter wheels in stock dimensions (can not remember the exact amount of tolerance accepted)
Alignment settings.
But double check the rulebook.

I think they give you 1/4" or 1/2" leeway as far as offset goes. Width and diameter have to match the stock thangs exactly.
I wrote this up a few years back (has it been that long?)... http://www.itrca.com/FAQ/track/autox.php
Some of it may be outdated, but it's a start.

Ryan, just drive the car and don't worry about setup. It won't matter for your first dozen events anyways. Hope you have fun next week, seeya this weekend!
