Default FYI - Hotel Rooms for NASA VIR 7/30 - 8/1 going fast!

I figured while I was calling to reserve my room for hyperfest, I would go ahead and get a room for the VIR race weekend too. The Sleep Inn in Danville is already out of double bed rooms for that weekend, and apparently don't have a lot of single bed ones left either. If anybody still needs a room, call NOW.

It's opening too late for the NASA-VA weekend at VIR, but there is a brand new Best Western being built near the Sleep Inn. It's only about a 1/4 mile closer to Danville...on the right on your way to the track...behind Hardee's.

Looks like it's going to be a pretty nice place. Supposed to open in early August.

I think the hotel AT the track is supposed to be opening soon, but I don't know if anybody here is interested in paying the prices they will probably charge.

The VIR website says opening this summer....I had heard early to mid-August.

From what I have heard from a couple of folks, they are going to be priced above the rate you get at Sleep Inn. Guess they'll see how demand goes before they adjust up or down.

Anyone got any floorspace available?

John, who is trying to be frugal on lodging since he needs a new set of tires

Does VIR allow camping? Like sleeping in the truck?

Bumping this up one more time in hope that somebody might have some floorspace available in their room... of course I'll pay my share of the way (and a few extra beers to boot)...

Having friends that are 20 minutes away from the track is better, you abuse their house and then get to leave at the end of the weekend. Your wife better have my bed made when I arrive.
