Default Wiring gauges to dimmer switch

Does anyone know the specfic wire that I would use for power to my autometer gauges, in order to have them dim with the dimmer switch?

I have measured the voltage for each of the three wires on the back of the dimmer switch and they only measure between 2.75-5.85 Volts. I hooked it up to one of those wires originally, but the light in the gauge is barely visible, even at night, since I am only pulling a max of 5.85 volts off of that source.

This is on a 1990 Honda civic.

Just wire them to the wires comming out of the gauge cluster and the dimmer switch will automatically control the lighting..... i have a 91 and my aftermarket tach as well as my aftermarket oil pres. and oil temp dim with my dimmer roll up and down thingy....

I want it to be on the dimmer.....the ignition won't accomplish that.
