94 EXA Won't start, brake stuck
Please help!
Edit: revising post to reflect problem
When I try to start my 94 Accord EX Auto, the dash indicators all come on, the stereo and air conditioner come on, and the engine fans also turn on, but the engine does not start. No noise, click, or anything. What could be the problem?
What could the problem be? PLEASE, I hope someone out there can help. I don't trust any mechanics in my area. If someone out there can help me, I will be sending out a token of gratitude (paypal, amazon.com gift certificate, etc.).

Two things:
1. What do you mean if you don't have your foot on the brake it won't start????????
2. When you say it does not start, what is happening? Is it clicking, turning over, dead????
Explain a bit more.

So the pedal doesn't move down at all? Sometimes, when the shifter isn's all the way in Park, an automatic equipped car will not start. If the pedal DOES move, check the shifter; that may fix the problem.
Thanks filthy and HAccord.
I was probably a little irrational when I posted the message. I flipped out a bit when I found out my car was broken down!
Ok, upon further review the brakes are just fine. When I try to start the car, the dash indicators all come on, the stereo and air conditioner come on, and the engine fans also turn on, but the engine does not start. No noise, click, or anything. What could be the problem?

Could be a couple of things.
Maybe your battery is dead. Now, even a dead battery will make the accessories work, yet is not powerfull enough to even make the solenoid work.
What happens when lets say you turn on the lights and try to start it. Do they dim alot?
If you have a charger, charge the battery.
Booster cables, boost the car
or a multimeter, check to see the battery voltage (should be 12.6 V)
Was something electrical left on?
Did it stall and then could not restart?

One more thing. if you can put the key in the on postion, not the acc, but the on position , that would eliminate anything that has to do with the shifter except the neutral switch.
This switch indicates that the car is in neutral or parked and can be started. It is possible that the switch or circuit is defective. First thing is to check for battery juice first.

Thanks filthy. I ruled out the battery and the starter fuse. I found some literature backing up what you said about the switch or circuit, and it suggests that the starter itself might also cause the problem. Is there any easy way to tell which is causing the problem?
Is this something that a mechanically inclined novice with tools and a Haynes manual could fix? If not, what would you guess that a professional would charge?
