Default installing recaro seats in EK civic

Hi,

This is a post on behalf of my brother.

I have a set of ITR recaros, they have no runners or subframes.

The standard seat runners in the EK will not bolt up to the recaro seats.

I've got hold of a set of ITR runners fitted them to the seats and fitted into the EK but only 3 holes line up, the rear inner hole is miles off.

How do you guys fit them??

Thanks for any help.

John

are the rails like sparco rails that the 2 rear holes are connected to 2 small brackets that are bolted on to the main rail? if so then unbolt them and redrill to extend them out farther

You'll need EK9 seat brackets. Is the inner back too long for the hole? If so, cut a little part off, bend the bracket, and drill a new hole. I installed a passenger ITR recaro in my DC2 and two bolts didn't line up, but the driver did. I believe it was the front outer and one of the rear. The rear was easy. Since the bracket was flat and the part that it bolts up to was vertical, I used a hammer to bend the bracket. The front outer was tricky since I had to bend and move the bracket over. A trusty hammer was key.

you should be able to notch the 4th hole to make it fit.

would the stock brackets/rails from the 99-00 Civic Si's bolt onto JDM Recaro seats? so they will fit a EM1? or would i need to get some EK9 sliders/brackets?

ehhh....ive got a set of Recaro Speeds (new edition of the SRDs)

my recommendation would be to spend the money and get Recaro sliders. its gonna be worth it. not worth stripping the bolt that is welded to your body. get the right parts for the job. Sure, its gonna cost ya some extra change ( i believe they are $60 each) but this way everything will fit perfectly. this is your seat you're talking about, the one that is ANCHORED in during an accident. i dont compromise my safety....
