91 SI, with B16A, radiator Fan and Thermostat questions
I've been reading the threads, but still have a quick question:
If you have a bad thermostat, will it prevent the radiator fan from coming on?
I know I have a bad thermostat because my lower radiator hose does not get hot, after running the car for 15-20 mins.
But i was wondering if thermostat is bad, does it prevent the radiator fan from coming on?
Thanks!
m

one other thing,
when i go buy a thermostat should I go B16 (99 si) or should I go Type R?
Anyone that is running the Type R, any benefits to it? I heard it runs a bit cooler.
Any thoughts?

i can help you! just jump the fan so that it runs all the time...
is that 2 prong plug connected to anything? (it should be connected to a sensor on the back of the block...that looks like the oil sending unit but has two niples instead of one...if it is not connected or has any place to be connected you can jump it to run all the time...pm me if you still need help

I don't know what the correct translation of 'jump' to Dutch is... Do you mean, I connect the two wires at the fan with each other? And does it still turn off when I turn my ignition off?
I want to have my fan on when the ignition is on.
But even better, have the fan turned on by the temp sensor even when the ignition is turned off. So it'll keep spinning even if I turned the car off. Does anyone know how to do this?
