Default Need help on front bumper swap from 02 to 04 design.

I am trying to swap bumpers. From 02 front bumper to 04.
Then put OEM front lip cover on top of it.
Personally 04 OEM front lip looks whole lot better then a 02 front lip.
But I like to know how well 04 f. bumper fits on a 02 model?
Another thing is that my paint is spa yellow pearl and I believe there is
some changes on a 04 model paint. If it is do you guys know how much of change
there is? Is it very noticable? Need help guys.
Thanks in advance.

From what I've heard you have to trim the bumper support for the new 04 bumper. Other than that it just goes on. But from what people say there is a little gap under the headlight that isn't that bad. I've seen it up close and the gap doesnt bother me much so I think that I will do the conversion.

I think the 04 with the oe lip looks way better than the 03 with the oe lip. But to each their own

it's not a straight swap, you'll need to modify your bumper support to fit. There are other things as well and hope others will chime in.

The older front lip/bumper is a much cleaner execution. Looks much more organic and when in movement, makes the car look very low and flush.

The new front lip/bumper is a bit more aggressive. Lines break-up a lot more giving it a more distorted look.

Is it worth the expense and time, especially since spa yellow and rio yellow are world's apart?

Hail no, but good luck.

I did it to my '01. The bumper came unpainted from hardtopguy, so just get it colormatched as best you can. The only modification that was needed was to remove the foam bumper insert. The gap at the headlights is very small.

Did you install this yourself?
Or did you have someone else install it for you?
If it's not too much of work, I would want to do it myself.
Do you have any picture to show?
Any how thanks for your info.

If you go to http://www.hardtopguy, he lists all the parts needed for a 2004 front bumper conversion. Things you will need:

-Front Bumper
-Headlights
-Front Grill
-Underside Splash Guard
-Tow Hook Cover

Other than that, everything should pretty much bolt on except what someone already said, you need to trim the bumper support for it to fit. I've always wanted to do this conversion but the cost of it is unjustified for now as i'm looking for more performance out of my car. Good luck to you though and post pics when you're done .

I'm not too sure...but as far as i know, the 2004 head lights will bolt right into a '00-'03 bumper and it will look fine. The only thing you have to modify is the hid module since its smaller on the '04. So i'm pretty sure regardless of whether or not you're using the '04 head lamps, you still need to trim the bumper support. If the trimming part is the only thing holding you back from doing the conversion, i wouldn't sweat about it. Its only a small trim .

It's pretty simple.. I am planning on doing it myself... already got the bumper from Honda, but it didn't have the tow hook cover, so I gotta go back and order that... then save for the front lip and get them sparyed so I can put them on!

For the time being I am going to run the '00-'03 headlamps but I want to swap out to the '04s.. they look sic..!

What about splash shields?
Don't you have to swap that as well?
