i think they are just as illegal as plug and play HIDs. i did use 9005 conversion, but i retrofitted to valeo H7 projectors and i am trying to make the H7 bulbs brighter than usual. if you think about it, 9005 is just a jump up version of a 9006 bulb. so boosting the H7 should give me something similar to a 9005 in terms of lifespand, brightness, and heat produced.

Sounds like a bunch of BS to me. The only way to make halogen bulbs brighter is to boost the voltage going to them. Wattage draw is always the same, whatever the bulb is rated at.
Notice when you have alot of accessories on and the headlights dim, it's because of voltage drop. Boost the voltage and the lights will burn hotter and brighter.

its my dad's. i don't know if it will melt it, but i don't drive enough at night to be using it all the time so i am not worrying.
