Default Header install question

First time installing a header on my 97 accord ex. What do I need for the install? Any special tools or anything. How do I make sure I have a proper seal? Thanks for the help.

Remove EM bolts and cat bolts, rebolt and use the provided gasket

Torque to specs in your repair manual that you should have.

PB Blaster is your BEST FRIEND, especially if this is the first time these bolts have been removed. Just let that stuff sit on there for an hour or so, and it should make things a hell of a lot easier. The o2 sensor might be a bit hard to remove, I know I had some trouble taking it out. Some auto parts stores have a socket just for it, but i just took a big adjustable wrench and took that sucker out.

I find whenever working on suspension or exhaust parts, having a can of PB Blaster on hand work wonders.

And no, I dont work for PB Blaster.

i use anti-seize for most of the bolts, torque it down to spec

and dont forget to tighten it evenly, not one side to the other

I second this! You will have one hell of a time without this stuff. I have seen friends pull out header studs instead of the nuts.

Take it from Pyrojeff and myself, buy a can of PB Blaster, if not 2.
