Default Outer tie rod end

When installing an outer tie rod end, is it supposed to snap into the steering knuckle? Or will it just get bolted down and I don't get to hear anything?

it's suppose to slip into the steering knuckle slot and bolted down with a castle nut and codder pin to make sure the castle nut doesn't back out of the thread.
