Hasport Hydro to cable conversion problems / questions
Waz up everyone,
I have a 91 CRX Si with a B16A with a 99 SI Hydro Tranny
I installed the hydro conversion kit from Hasport, and I was wondering if anyone else who has used this kit is having problems installing the clutch cable to the acutator lever? For some reason, it seem like it's off by 1/2 an inch.
For those familiar it comes in two pieces, but is actually composed of three.
The mounting bracket that attaches to the tranny,
The cable lever (already installed on the bracket from hasport)
The throw out bearing lever
I have tried doing it both ways:
First way: Install the cable to the lever, then tried to attach the throw out bearing lever to the cable lever. Again its short by 1/2 an inch.
Second way : I installed the complete conversion kit, then loosened the adjusting nut as much as possible, attempted to slide the bottom of the cable onto the lever, still off by 1/2 an inch.
last desperate McGyver way, I cut the rubber stopper at the end of the cable by half, leaving the metal retainer in place. It slid on fine. I know this is a jerry riggin way of doing it but I had no other choice. The clutch feels firm, but not as bad as my 99 with a CM stage 4.
FYI: Per hasport the stock CRX Si cable should work fine. No hack job / ghetto riggin needed.
Anyone else run into this problem? Do you think I need a different cable?
Any help would be appreciated!

PS
I also loosened the adjusting bolt under the dash for the clutch pedal. Still no real significant difference.

I went with a DA clutch cable and it was still hard to put on. You just have to use a little muscle and cleverness and you will get it to fit. What I did was install the part where it goes on the clutch pedal first, then I jacked up the car squeezed it in the actuator mechanism.

Thats what I did, trimmed the crx rubber boot. With the crx cable, there is only limited adjustment, so I figure when I run out of thread I will just upgrade to the teg cable.
