Default Running rich/ Really bad MPG

Hi guys I'm new to Hondas, and need some help. I bought a car w/ a B16 in it. It has about 50K miles on it. If I rev the engine it smells really rich and I'm only getting about 190 miles to a tank.

Would a full tune-up fix this problem?

What all goes into it? Like a timing belt, plugs, etc. What else?

Might as well do a good tune up, Air filter, Distributor cap / rotor, plugs...

Doing a tune-up ought to clean up any timing issues which might be running it rich?

I have a B16 SiR w/ 2 O2 sensors. Where should I get those from?

DO I need to replace the plug wires? They are NGK wires.

I do run it somewhat hard, but I should be getting better MPG than that right? Plus the rich smell. I only bought the car a few months ago. I've changed the oil and what not. I need to do this tune-up though. I don't know what condition the timing belt is in.

does the CEL (check engine light) turn on for 1 sec when you prime the fuel pump b4 starting?

How does the car idle? any back firing? stumbles?

I don't know about the CEL, I'll have to check. I don't think so. I had to fix my FITV, so my idle was giving me problems. Then it was fine for a while, but if I put on my AC while stopped, it seems to want to kill it. It won't, but it bogs a little.

Plus my idle has been acting kind of weird, like keeping it below 1K, then it might search a little, then it's fine. I pulled of my TBI and cleaned it all. Fixed the ringcap in the FITV. Burped the system. I had to turn my idle adjustment screw all the wy down to get it to idle around 800 RPMs.

What's up w/ my car?

I think you are doing your idle settings incorrectly.

here ya go ... in steps.

1. Warm car up to operating temperature.
2. Make sure NO accessories are on, Stereo, Heater/ac, lights, even the rad fan
3. Unplug the IACV.
4. Set the idle via the Idle screw on the TB to around 600rpm
5. Shut car off, plug the IACV back in.
6. Pull hazard fuse for 30 sec to reset ecu
7. Start the car and let it idle until the coolin fan comes on again.

Sweet. I'll try that when I get home. This won't fix my richness problem will it? So adjust the idle properly, and do a full tune up, and time it, and that should correct most of my problems?

What about the 2 O2 sensors? And the plug wires?

well check to see if the check engine light comes on for 1 sec when you first put your key in and prime the fuel pump. If it doesnt i bet some1 pulled the bulb out to hide the light and you have some codes.

I know my CEL works if that's what you meant. when I fixed my FITV, it threw a code because I forgot to plug it back in. 14 I think. The CEL was working then.

ok good.when driving around dont rev past 4k if u can help it. You'd be surprised how much throttle angle/position eats gas.

remember, part throttle = 30psi fuel, WOT = 40psi. thats a 33% increase in pressure!

If your 02's are switched it will cause 2 of the cyl to be rich, and the other 2 to be lean. Make sure yours are not switched, also, how are they ran? Just like stock? Does your car hesitate at partial throttle?

The reason being is that many people who are rich with b16's have there 02's ran incorrectly. Just my 2 cents. Ryan

How can I tell? Wouldn't I be throwing a code? My car seems to get up fine even at half-throttle.
One's green, one's milky white. They're hooked up the same as when I bought the car.

use a 90-91 integra cap and rotor...you can also use a 94 Del Sol and 92-93 GSR VTec belt.

Wasn't the 92-93 GSR a B17?

Yep...same belt tho. B17a has PR3 stampings all over it.
