Default how much did you pay? s2000 2004

hi,
I am new to this board and I am considering purchasing a new 2004 s2000
how much room is there to negotiate with this car?
One of the dealers here has a demo model with 2500 miles. He offered it to me at invoice, but I am not sure if this is a good idea. Has anyone had experience getting a good deal on a demo and how did you negotiate?

Anyone recently buy a 2004? how much did you pay?

any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Lain

where are you located?

for a demo with 2500 miles i would pay no more than 24-25k....

i got my MY04 5 weeks ago for 29,895 before tax/title/license in so cal... i think the easiest way to deal with the dealers is through the internet. Get an online quote through cars.com or edmunds.com...

take the lowest offer you get and email them back with something like this...

"with dealer holdback of at least 3% of MSRP, i expect to pay no more than 29,995 for this car"

see what their responses are, and when one dealer agrees to that price, take that quote to another dealer... shop around till you get the best deal possible.

if you ever call on the phone, they will lie and say anything they can do try to get you to actually walk in to the showroom, but I wouldnt do that untill you already have a deal with the internet departments.

so... to answer your question, invoice for a demo model with 2500 miles is rediculous. If you are looking to actually take that car, offer them $24000 for it since it is "used" but I would not take it since it was probably "abused"

Don't listen to this guy... Everything he just said is a pile of crap!

1) He did not get the car for that low of a price in SoCal... In places like Ohio and Boston, I would believe it..
2) $24K for a used '04 is ridiculous! Why would a dealer sell a car for $8K off MSRP, just because it has 2500 miles on it.... Expect to pay $27-28K for one with 2500 miles on it....

Geez, this guy must be smoking crack or something! Used '02's are going for around $24K!

i got mine for 18k, but there was like 56k miles on it, and there were rock chips, missing foglights, the factory stereo din work, a small dent in the right fender sideskirt area. but i still love it. i think you will too.

I would listen to s2k44.
I think he makes lot more sense then Kmlee1113.
You should be able to knock off 3000 dollars for having 2500 miles.
But I would invest little more money and buy a brand new s2k.

ya I agree I have decided to go new and I have taken kmlee's great advice and have dealers fighting for my business. so far I got them down quite a bit, but not quite to the point I would like yet.

Plus, with 81 miles, that car was test driven the hell out of..... So much for the break-in, someone already did it for you...

can you read? "cash price vehicle 29895"

can you read? "accessories" things like lo-jack? floormats?

81 miles.. so what... 20 of them was me. there were no 04 GPW anywhere in my area with low miles anyways and i did not want to wait...

LOL.. Exactly.... You paid $550 for a bunch of crap that is normally thrown in with the Vehicle...

Well, total price of mine was $29,995 WITH Floormats and crap like that....

Guess they made up their money somewhere on you.....

Still, 60 miles on the car that were not driven by you, but rather someone who revved the **** out of it, and beat the crap out of it.....

You might have paid less than some, but got an abused new car! LOL, mine had 6 miles on the odometer... Right off the truck.. if you ask me, that's worth a little more, because it gives you a piece of mind that the car was never abused......

jeeez man what the heck is your problem? i prove you wrong by showing you my contract and you just keep on going... pile of crap that i paid 29895 in so cal, where are you located and how do you make that statement if you are not in socal? why would i lie about how much i paid for my car? and really, does it matter how much you ended up paying.. as long as you are happy with it? there will always be someone who paid less than you or i did

not a bad price you got there kmlee. nicely put and just let your paperkwork talk for you. hahaha

sk244...81 miles is nothing bro and you know it. he just shut you up good cuz he had proof of what he was talking about.

one thing though....i don't think he can still get that 04 with 2500 for 24-25K. maybe 27k the least...but i doubt that still

im not as rich as you guys and got me a used 01 from a friend. got a good deal with it though and i did the 02 glass conversion myself. cuz that plastic piece is crap....hahaha

wow, you're reaching for a comeback there. 60 miles of beating on it isn't gonna do anything. You do realize for the most part your actual miles depend on when the speedometer was hooked up. They're usually not hooked up til they get to the dealer so who knows what yours had on it before the 6 miles. Oh well, congrats to the thread starter. Most dealers I've dealt with don't usually throw in LoJack anyways, it's not a standard option or anything.

I got mine for $30,445 before taxes/lic/reg. But after owning the car for 3 months, I would have gladly paid MSRP. I'm glad I bought the S
