Default Took rods to machine shop for milling and pressing.......rebore big end? w/arps's

I took my rods to the machine shop today to have them milled and have the CTR pistons pressed on. I have ARP rod bolts and I thought what the heck and told them to go ahead and press them in as well. They asked for the vehicle year, make, and model so that they could look up the stock bore on the big end of the rod because after installing the ARP rod bolts they must rebore the big end to factory specs? Does this sound right I have never heard of this before? They are the most reputable machine shop in the area and I have heard many good things about them but this just sounded funny to me please help.

Yes.

Since the rod bolts are press fit they can distort the bore during installation and the shop knows to fix this.

yes, it is highly recommended that you do this to prevent bearing failure.

I would never put in new rod bolts without having the rods bored.

Humm I never thought of that before. Not to jack the thread but what about stock rod bolts. I just bought some new gsr rods with stock rod bolts. Will I need to get the big end bored on these as well. The rods will be going onto a gsr crank.
