Was wondering if it is possible to swap a 5-speed tranny from a first gen legend onto my 95 av6. How much different are the engines (legend=c27a1, av6=c27a4)? If it is possible, what would i need other than tranny mounts and shift linkage? Any help would be appreciated. I know there's not much out there for 5th gen av6, but i need help. Thanx.

 

yes, the swap should work, (theoretically since the motors are using essentially the same block)...

to make it work, you will need:

-tranny
-clutch
-flywheel and flywheel bolts
-shifter assembly
-shift linkage
-clutch pedal
-clutch master cylinder and slave cylinder
-hydraulic clutch lines (from mc to sc)
-legend 5 speed ecu
-legend axles

think that's it...it would probably be easiest to remove the motor to perform this swap, but that's just my opinion...if you take on this swap, good luck, and props for trying it...

 

Thanx for the reply. Really looking forward to doing the swap. Was thinking about selling and getting a 2.2 and then engine swap, but not many tuned out 5th gen av6, so i'll give it a try.
