ROFLMAO... I feel the same way man.
Good luck with the sale I'm sure someone wants (but more importantly can afford) your goodies
BTW why are you getting rid of it?

Maybe this "30 times" includes the occassional trip to the pharmacy or a drive around the block to keep the battery charged???

ARTHUR:
What does it say?
MAYNARD:
It reads, 'Here may be found the last words of Joseph of Arimathea. He who is valiant and pure of spirit may find the Holy Grail in the Castle of aaarrrrggh'.
ARTHUR:
What?
MAYNARD:
'...The Castle of aaarrrrggh'.
BEDEVERE:
What is that?
MAYNARD:
He must have died while carving it.
LAUNCELOT:
Oh, come on!
MAYNARD:
Well, that's what it says.
ARTHUR:
Look, if he was dying, he wouldn't bother to carve 'aarrggh'. He'd just say it!
MAYNARD:
Well, that's what's carved in the rock!
GALAHAD:
Perhaps he was dictating.
ARTHUR:
Oh, shut up.

Scott,
No more Mugen dampers! if not Moton's in your future, perhaps the slick JRZ dampers. Or are you contemplating a whole new car and returning your ITR to stock spec?

Claude,
I lost my senses again, and while I was "out" I ordered Motons.
I did contemplate the liquidation of my entire ITR milieu and it's replacement by a nice tow rig, trailer and Spec Miata....but then I said "Naaahhhhhh!"
I had a guy that seemed pretty hot for the header, but maybe he cooled off after I measured the collector at 2.25 and corrected my post.
No nibbles at all on the shocks, but they weren't going anywhere right away anyway because I need them for the Double Regional this weekend. And, if I've learned my lesson, I really shouldn't sell them until I've got the Motons operational.
Scott, who plans on racing his ITR a long time...a very long time...taken in perspective, I think it makes about as much sense as anything else I'm likely to do with race cars...and likely more, strange as that might sound...

Now that makes me feel much better! I thought that you might have gone soft and decided to go the spec Miata route. As I once said, it's hard to get respect in a Miata. Even when the guy is fast, he ain't getting no respect, well at least not in my experience.
I spoke for a while to a guy from a race shop who built up a 935 replica for a customer that beat all the factory built 935's at the Rennsport reunion. He said he had spent a long time working on the dampers, in this case JRZ's, swapping ideas back and forth with the Netherlands's guys about how to get the perfect setup for his application. They were very similar to the Moton's with external reservoir. I also think I mentioned that Nathan from Realtime told me that the mugen's on the ITR were a complete non-maintenance item, but that the Moton's on their RSX's were in regular need of rebuilding. Perhaps they have better seals now, but it might be an issue for very high damping required for killer springs. Only time will tell I suppose. Do you have a formula for setting them up. Three settings vs two, opens up a realm of new possibilities.

I've been told by both Lex and Scott that the Motons are highly reliable and that they should require very little attention. I'll be hoping they're right, and that Nathan's just had some bad luck.
No formulas. Scott's going to give me what help he can based on their experience, but it'll come down to twisting and trying - I'm really looking forward to it.
Scott, who still can hardly believe the rear spring rates on those RSX's...

so, are you going to base your twists of the ***** on info you get from some shock speed histograms???
you know you should

well lets see, herr went from pro miata to world challenge, tindol went from pro miata to world challenge, dobson races pro miata, and i'd guess that coello will probably get a ride with somebody after this year as well. oh yeah, and pro miata gets to run on the same weekend as champ cars and ALMS. last race i had a former formula continental national champ filling my mirrors, we have an old can-am guy winning most of our races, and a former formula atlantic national champ mixing it up as well, on a regional level.
<---not biased at all

The SEDIV is that largest in SCCA last I checked.
Many of our fastest drivers can be found behind the wheel of Spec Miatas.
If the respect you're looking for comes from racing with some of the fastest drivers out there and 30 cars in class, SM is s great place to be. If the respect you want comes from having a hizzie fizzie ITR on the trailer and racing against 2 competitive cars in class... Well... You won't get that in a Miata.
Scott, who has more pro drivers and hotshoes interested in driving his silly little ITC car than were ever interested in his pimpy black GSR <go figure>.

Some of you Miata guys are so sensitive! So who has more respect: Mike Galati, Pierre Kleinubing and P.D. Cunningham for winning WCTC championships in ITR's (or even Billy Auberlen in his BMW), or guys winning Miata championships?
It sounds like you're confusing respect with fame.
I'd take respect of fellow racers over the notariety of the local stunna's every time...

are you really trying to compare local club racing with televised pro racing?

Quick, run to the produce section of your local grocery store. The round shiney red things are Apples. The round, kind of bumpy orange things are Oranges. They are similar in that they are both fruit and round. Otherwise...
Scott, who wonders if we are now somehow lumping Mr. Rinde into the same driver category as Cunningham and Galati.
PS - Me = Not a Miata Guy

if that miata champion built, set up, and crews for himself, yeah, i probably do have more respect for him than a guy whose only job it is is to drive. same with an AS, EP, GT, or anything else.
