one thing i thought about when a friend asked me about this was putting a relay in teh trunk with the coil connected to the remote turn on lead and then power from the distribution block to the lights. on paper it works but i'm not sure the kind of power the relays would draw and whether the remote turn on lead can handle sufficient current.

All Hondas are wired for trunk/hatch light evan if you don't have the light.
There is 12v+ constent and a switched ground there , just wire to them and you dont need the switch, lights[neon] will come when you open trunk/hatch,if you want neon on with trunk/hatch closed just add switch to the neg. lead .
hope this helps.
