The only thing i know that was special on any crx would be teh passive rear steering on teh 88's? I think , unless im confusing something that the early preludes had....

Is that the super rare one with the lambo doors that was also a convertable and came stock with an SR20DET Spoon motor and a motec exhaust?
I thought those were just a myth - now that I see you posting about them I KNOW they are for real!!!

Hopefully you are talking about what everyone else is talking about with the prelude stuff. But the 88crx are notorious for steping their rear ends out. Its actually pretty scary.

people keep telling me that some of the crxs came with a setup similar to the 4ws preludes....yes i know that some 88-91 preludes and 92-96 preludes had this...i am wondering if the crxs had this...

and please...if your not posting information i need...Dont post. makes sense doesnt it? i dont need this sr20det spoon bullshit because obviously sr20 is nissan, and spoon is honda

so if you dont have information pertaining to the topic, dont post stupid ****.

Thank you.

I think the people that told you crx's came with AWS were lieing. The only model was the prelude in the U.S. anyway.

What you may originally have been told, is probably referring to "passive rear steering". Your usage of the "controlled oversteer" terminology, conjures up something... much different. It's almost a contradiction in terms, especially when discussing a short-wheelbase front-wheel-drive car.

The passive setup is way more subtle compared to what the Prelude 4WS was doing. Read a discussion on this here:

https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=690666

FYI, one of the contributors of interesting info in that thread (CRX Lee) is a long time Koni North America employee and CRX driver.

A piece of advice.

Don't listen to that buddy of yours anymore.
"passive" steering is nothing more then a subtle 'lean' under heavy cornering.

I have always heard people talk about swapping the AWD civic tranny into a CRX, but have never actually seen one.
