Default Little help

Ok so i just got my motor in y7 swap and when i go to put it into gear and it wont go like it just grinds and if i start the car in gear it jumps even if the clutch is pushed in

So today i just pulled the tranny again looked at it and counted the splines and guess what i have a 21 spline 88 si tanny so what im looking at is why it wont work
Because i used the same clutch/pp from the si motor i got the tranny from but i left the stock flywheel from the y7 on their

Now i read that it shoulednt have bolted up right to the flywheel but it did
Then today i got the tranny and all out and was looking at the pp and the springs all move freely and are kinda beat up like the move alot is this normal?

can i just get a new clutch for a 88 tranny and be ok with the stock y7 flywheel

Please help thanks

Here is a pic of what i mean the springs all move and **** is that normal?

sounds like you need to adjust the clutch cable, not pullin the arm enough to completely disengage and it's grinding...

well i tried that last night i pulled the arm up to where i heared it hit then tightend it up got in the car tried it and nothing

I was thinking it was my clutch cable but since nobody help to much last night when i asked i just pulled the tranny to see if i did something wrong

I was wondering if since its a 88 tranny and i have a 96 flywheel i from my searches i found that they said it wont work but the pp bolted up fine so i dont no

i vote for a new clutch.. those springs shoudn't be that loose. and ide want the right amount of splines.. once you jack up that input shaft.. ur screwed.

I am wondering if its the clutch or the cable?

Was the tranny working when you took it from the Si. I would use all the same parts for the same transmission. Save yourself the headache of taking the transmission on and off.

yeah i dont think the 88's will work with Y7 flywheel...i think they are 200mm clutches on the 88's but the 90-91 civic/crx's had 212mm clutches which is what pretty much any 92-2000 sohc civic engine had on it. I could be wrong though but that's what my feeling is.

the clutch and flywheel need to be from the same year. you can use the y7 flywheel but need a 92-95 clutch and pp. or use the 88 flywheel but need the 88 clutch and pp.
