I have a friend who's having problems with his gauge cluster. He had a JDM ITR cluster and put the stock one back in. I swapped the faces between the clusters for him (not the motherboard, just the faces), but the gas gauge and temperature gauge don't work...speedometer & tach work fine.
Are you supposed to swap all the gauges or just the speedometer and tach and swap needles on the temp/gas gauge? What's the problem? What's hooked up wrong?

This is what I've always done, and it's always worked for me. I do believe that the difference, as Dave implied, is the fact that the 94-97 clusters are slightly different from the 98-01 clusters.

I do recalled when I swapped the '96 green film to the '98+ JDM is that few of the icons like the seatbelts, ABS, handbrake were in a different position. Just swap those ones from the '94-'97 and that's it.

i didnt go the route of doing the green film. i took out the gauges itself from the screws in the rear and swapped them into my original housing.
hope that helps.
