Default Changed my plugs, and i'm stumped...

BONE STOCK 92 Integra

Symptoms that prompted me to check plugs:

huge power loss (like 40% or so)
500rpm idle (sometimes lower)
backfiring

pulled the plugs and cylinders 2 and 3 are big-time black, so i know i'm rich there (which would explain the backfiring). my question is, would running rich cause the power loss and low idle? all my vacuum lines are fine, so what could possibly be causing 2 cylinders to run way rich and the others to be fine?

funds are limited till thursday (it won't be heaps better then thanks to rent being due, but i'll have a couple hundred prolly more than i do now ), but i still have to drive the car between now and then.

any suggestions/thoughts are greatly appreciated.

And yes, I searched under "running rich" but nothing really helped with figuring out why only 2 of the cylinders would be as such.

Could possibly be an o2 sensor or you might have to replace your ignitor and rotor/cap.Try these things along with a compression test just to be sure and see what happens

1. Don't have a compression tester
2. Entire distributor is brand new from Acura about 3 months ago. Took ignitor out and tested, it's fine. Took coil out and tested, it's fine. Rotor and cap are both fine. All items mentioned are completely dry.

I'm gonna go to bed now. I've got a feeling the O2 sensor finally left a hot steaming pile on the living room floor.

just hope it makes it to base okay tomorrow.

it may be a longshot but check your injectors and your fuel filter, you will be amazed at what sorts of problems a clogged/bad fuel filter will create
