Default ls- vtec or keep the b18c for build?

Here is the question in a few months i go back to school and i have a Rebuild class and i have a b18c1 for the project the problem is that i want to sleeve it. I cant take the motor apart and send the block away for sleeving during class because i wont have it together in time for the class. i have two b18b's lying around my question is should i buy another gsr block and send it off for sleeving and rebuild onto that block or should i send one of my ls blocks and do a ls vtec set up. My build now consists now of Je pistons, eagle rods, Benson sleeving, aebs head studs, ARP rod bolts, i have never built a ls vtec but am confident in myself in doing it. so im just wondering the good and bad of each idea.

I had my block sleeved by Benson in 3 weeks, including shipping time between NY and CA. I vote for the GSR route.

no thats the problem i cant wait even a week and if somthing happens where it takes along time i will fail the class. my onlyoption is to have a block ready before the class starts but i still dont know what route to take

built LS vtec will trump a built GSR in my book. Assuming, its built right.
