Default B16 intake question..

Okay, I just picked up a cheap-o shorty from a 90-93 Teg for my Civic and I've got a few questions. (don't worry, I searched)

On my stock intake tube there's 3 lines going into the intake. The one from the valve cover, and then two smaller ones that come off things from the IM.
What can I do with the two smaller ones? Anyone rig something up to put them on the intake? Or do I just plug them, or leave them open? What do they do?

Also, is there any way I could make it more heat resistant? (the piping) Or would that be a complete waste of time and money? Would thermal wrap help at all or be a total waste?!

Thanks.

all they are is vaccum lines, so tap them to any other vaccum if you want, that's what i did, and i also wrapped my intake in header wrap, and also my headers are wrapped. It does keep underhood temps down.
