Default Dual point to Multi point problems...

I just bought a 89 crx. The previous owner did a dual point to multipoint swap and said that the car never ran right after the swap. THe car will start and run however if you hold the gas down all the way the rpm sticks at 3000. It never goes any further. He said that maybe the injectors were bad and the timing was off. Anyone have any other idea to try. Information on checking the timing. Thanks - Mike

hmmm.. sounds kinda like the problem i was having right after doing my swap...
the only thing that was wrong with mine is that one of the wires I added on at the computer for the dizzy wasnt connected all the way, so it had a bad connection.. fixed the connection and its been running strong ever since.. so make sure you check the wiring before u buy anything.. cause that could very well be the problem..

If you have any questions, just IM me and I'll try to help ya figure it out. I've done this before so I have a pretty good idea how everything goes and have a digital cam to take any pics u need

OKay thanks...the guy who did the swap did an awful job with the wiring. So it is a great chance that this is the problem. What is your AIM name just so i can hold onto it. Thanks

How is the throttle cable? Did he swap that out for a shorter one? Maybe if he did a half a** job on the wiring he might have just wrapped the DPFI throttle cable around the intake manifold a couple of times.

i did that swap on my 91 crx.. i swaped to si... there are only a few wires goin to the ecu.. i would just totaly start over with the injectors.... i would just run totaly new wires to the ecu and then u know exactly wuts goin on... maby somewhere he used 2 wires to go the full distance and its a bad connection, if u do it all urself u KNOW wuts the deal.. good luck man

wow... that is really messy wiring he did...
if u ask me.. i'd say just to take out all the wiring he did and do it all over again yourself.. shouldnt take very long...probably somewhere around an hour if u've never done it before...
i have a write-up on my website and ill try to answer any questions u ask..

**** I was just joking but do you see that he is using a DPFI throttle cable. LMAO. Dude switch that to a crx Si throttle or a 90-93 teg (one of the two). And rewire that sh.. I mean poop.
