Default HELP ME!! Do I Have A Burnt ECU?

Ok, I had a few problems with my mini me swap but most of them were fixed. The biggest problem I had was timing. Now its perfect. My problem now is, on the way home the car started acting funny. Doing a few wierd things, speedo moves up and down, it even completly turned past 120 mph a few times. My other problem is that now the car shifts whenever it feels like it. I think it even drives on like 4th or 5th gear. Takes maybe 30 seconds to accellerate. My dad is pissed off at me cuz he knows I fucked with the car. I seriously regret doing the swap because of so many problems. Anyway, does anyone know whats going on? I thank you all in advance for helping me out.

BTW: For all you leg humpers, I am a guy using my girls account so dont even think about it.

Damn I so wanted to hump a leg today .....

Sounds a lot like what my old Neon used to do ... the dash would blink off the come back on the guages would jump all over the place, It would stick in 2nd gear then jump to 4th .. or i would be cruzing on the highway and it would suddenly down shift ....

In the end it turned out my engine was totaly trashed .... I mean like 7g's worth of work .. I gave the car back to the dealership I got it from .. part of my problem was that I didnt get it fixed right away ... I keep putting things off till it got worse and worse ... by that time it wasent worth fixing .. . would get it to a mecanic right away and find out exactly what the problem is ...

... Wish I could give you more advice but like I said when it happened to me the car DIED

Well the speedo problem just sounds like your sensor might be bad. My friend has an IROC and his jumps up every now and then during the cold. As for the tranny problem i could be the ecu. But I've never heard of a 5spd automatic in a civic.

after my friends b16 swap, his speedo jumped around and sometimes didn't work. he left it alone, and it works again, might've just been lose connections. check your connections, also is the tranny controlled by vacuum? maybe you don't have enough vacuum for the transmission, leak maybe?

all that needs to be done is cleaning? I also notice that the dash lights and headlights are dimming back and forth rapidly. Is this just a solenoid problem? Today I tried to start the car and it was still doing the same thing. Still driving weak. I hope someone can help me out asap so I can get the car back on the road. Its currently been about 2 weeks since I have not returned home due to a out of commission car.

Altenator will cause the needle to jump around and make the tranny shift whenever it wants? Can you please explain to me how it would make it do that?

Have you tried resetting the ECU? You may have pissed it off really good. Sometimes the simplest thing is the solution.
