Default Wiring the power antenna trigger: Problem resolved.

UPDATE: Problem is solved. Although all the specs for the new radio did not show a power antenna trigger pin, an after-market (METRA) snap connector harness #71-1721 had a wire for the antenna switch connection that matched the wire on the original harness. So apparently, even though the newer Honda's have built-in antennas, the radios still have the connections to operate a power antenna switch on the older models.

I am installing a Honda OEM radio/CD from a 2004 Odyessy in my 1991 Accord EX. I have snap connector wiring harnesses for both ends, I am ready to splice the wires. The '91 Accord has a power antenna, the original snap connector harness from the radio/CD does not have a power antenna wire. What wire on the radio harness could I splice into so that the power antenna will activate only when I turn on the radio/CD unit?
Thanks in advance. VanguardSpecial

You will need to check the pins, [ all pins ] to see if there is one that has power on it when radio is on, there may be one on main harness, as that unit may be used in hondas that have power ants. check plug with missing pins,[if any]

You can always install a switch for ant. , also when checking pins, use a DVM not a test light.

hope this helps. 94
