questions on 88 integra motor

Default questions on 88 integra motor

My friend has a 88 integra motor for me, it should go in my 90 dx hatch back no problem right? so if i use the wireharness and ecu off of that motor it should run properly or do i still have to do somthing becuase of the dual point thgat the car used to be? and do i need any different axels, tranny or anyhting??

it will not fit.......mounts totally different, same with the tranny that comes with it.

Yep, the 86-89 teg engine/tranny swaps easily into an 84-87 Civic/CRX and nothing else. They are a totally different branch of the Honda family tree.

but that is a d series block - what about using the civic tranny - that doesn't bolt up to the integra block? what is different about them - i was just going to think about doing this swap to a 90 crx - i figured it would fit since it was a d series

only if you build a custom driver mount for the teg engine. Oh yea, don't forget to grind the tranny so it will clear the thermostat housing. and the starter will only bolt up to with the top bolt. the hole is off for the bottom "longer" bolt. Yes I tried. not worth the trouble in my opinion. if it's the 88 motor pull it apart and use the pistons in another d series.
