Default I would like to thank.....

I would like to thank all of the want to be type r guys and cars out there......
I took my 98 ITR out to the local rod run and found the public is so misinformed that most did not know that my ITR was real or what made it real .. There are so few down here most just thought it was just a teg with some stickers.. The car did not even get a second look..
My wife drove the CRX race car which is now street legal and that thing got lots of looks ( especially from the cops).. What a joke.. It was great.

amazingly it seems like your R is "stealth" in you area, which sounds like a good thing to me. i'd start to worry when people, especially the shady ones, start to actually notice and pay attention

i would let those folks keep thinking what they are thinking and just admit its just another teg with stickers

Yeah, it was a riot.. I was quite guarded for a long time not moving away from the car but no one would even walk around it..
I do not like it out in public but around here it hardly gets a second look.

btw-i know you just restored this car according to your other post. good for you in keeping the usdm front. it looks beautiful, nice rebuild. i cant help to think that one day there's going to be a resurgence with the usdm front, particularly for the itr, and people will go back to what is truly "original". i love the look of the jdm front myself, if thats how my car actually came the usdm front is equally pleasing, atleast for me.

Bah, don't generalize. Some of us with GSR's enjoy reading and seeing the Type R's because we'd like to own one eventually. Not everyone's the same, I for one have to work with what I have (GSR) and one day hope I can get my hands on an R when I have enough saved up.

Not everyone with a GSR is jealous, they're happy with what they have. It's still something to look up to though, and I have great respect for anyone with such a clean vehicle as the poster above.

It wasn't really generalizing on his part though. He said "it sounds like a 'jealous' gsr owner"...which it was. If he were to have said, "it sounds like a gsr owner"...then THAT would be generalizing.
