My ITR was invited to Eyes on Design, A prestigious car show held this year on the Ford (automobile) family estate in Grosse Pointe MI. The theme this year was race cars, with about 200 cars attending. I still don't have a motor but threw the car together to attend. http://www.brophy.com/dio_site/html/evn_eod.htm
Some pics from the show

How in the hell can you tell if this Camaro is NOT a true Yenko? Matt, what else do you know about it. I love seeing track driven muscle cars and miss my non-track driven '78 Gold SE Trans Am.

Great looking R.. first time I've seen that grill piece; does it utilize ducting to the brakes, as someone said?
What wheels are those? I like how they sort of resemble bicycle spokes (I know that sounds crazy)
I like em!
EDIT: I see the ducting now

Hey Matt, I have yet to install my brake ducts and wondered what you used for the screen? Is it flexible or other, what exactly is it made of? Is it Home depot or similar screen?
The infamous brake ducts

Reason I ask is that the whole idea of my duct setup besides cooling, is it will collapse if front end damage occurs so the radiator has more potential to be saved instead of skewered.
Thanks, Anton who meeds to get some free time and install all that stuff he bought last February
Good stuff,
but I liked it better without the stickers.

Real Yenco Camaros have different hood and different front grill , There were only 373 Yenco camaros produced from 1967 till 1969 !! The best was the 1969 ZL-1 it had a 480 BHP running 12`s in stundart form !! Your friend told you that it was a Yenco because there was a REPLICA Yenco Camaro in 2 Fast 2 Furious and he wanted to impress you by telling you that it was the same **** that was used in the movie
and bealive me you don`t do a $70,000 car striped and used for racing only ....
BTW my brother owns a 1969 Camaro RS/SS , my ITR and his Camaro looks realy nice parked next to each other in the same Garage

it sure as hell wasnt 70k in the late 60s. Thank god someone saw the yenko as more than a showcar, like most people seem to think they are.

If it were a real Yenko, why make it up like a Penske Trans-Am car? The Yenko's had 427's, for that Penske car to be a true Z/28, it would have to have a 302. It's either one or the other, not both at the same time
. Both are highly valuable in their own right, but taking one to make the other is not the best idea.

They do? I see no front emblem AND the raised Yenko hood. It could very well be a Yenko Camaro.

The standard 427 for the Yenko Camaros was the L72 (rated @ 425 bhp). Even these were claimed to be churn out sub-12 second 1/4 mile times!
I believe the ZL-1 427 was a very high dollar option.

I'm sure you were standing right next to Matt during their conversation about the car. Also, many, many people do crazy things to high end cars. These came with tough as nails aluminum 427s, 4:10 gears, heavy duty accessories (alternator, radiator, battery), etc. These were built for the abuse of the drag strip or a road course. Why not build a caged track monster out of a Yenko Camaro?
I really do NOT know if this is a true Yenko Camaro, but from Matt's one picture of the car, it's tough to tell. Why the "Z/28" is on the fender, I dunno, so it could be 302 powered like Brian said.
