d15 block, d16 head ... what parts?
car is '91 civic lx sedan ... stock d15 block ... put on was a '95 vx 1.6 head. does anyone know what timing belt i should be using? the one from the 1.5 is too big so i'm guessing get the one for the 1.6 vx head, is this right?
also the distributor doesn't line up .. surprise, surprise .. how do i enlarge the bolt hole? dremmel tool or is there another way?
if anyone can understand the nonsense i just typed and can offer help, i would be grateful.

Ok, let me clear some things up real quicky like...
Weren't the VX's 1.5 VTEC motors? And if so, you have a whole mess of worms to deal with. Also, are you trying to put in the stock DPFI distributor in there? You need to be using the distributor that came with that motor so you can run all 4 injectors but that would put you into OBD-2 land....so very late....I'll sleep on this and get back to you in the morning.

the vx head may be a 1.5 .. i thought was a 1.6 but could be wrong. that shouldn't pose an issue though i wouldn't think.
the vx was a vtec but i'm not wiring up vtec, just running as a normal head.
yes, i am using the distributor off the '91 1.5 .... please tell me i can do this
oh, and if you can't tell .. i know **** about all this

D15 block + D16 head = Hydra swap. There's a guy named Kirk over on RPR who's pulled it off..Took a D15A3 block and either a D16 or ZC head and put it all together in his 87 CRX. From what I've heard, it turned out quite well.

use the vx timing belt, correct. the dist. has to be modified and i've got a post on it that i'll find. the vtec is in the head but you can run without it. i don't know how well it runs but it will run. you just have to use your intake manifold and ecu. the vx head is basically the same as the d15b but with good ol' american emissions on it.

look at the pic in the thread. i also had to widen the hole on the top leg.

cool .. so the distributor from the '91 d15 will work ... correct ? just want to make sure
only issue will be getting it to stay in time by being creative.
also, the stock '91 d15 ecu will work ... correct?

i also was able to get my timing adjusted by using the dremel to grind notches in the legs that hinder movement. did that today and got timing set dead on.
