Burning Oil, Smoking White... Advice needed.

Default Burning Oil, Smoking White... Advice needed.

96 usdm b18c1 in a 93 cx... i have to keep putting oil in every week cuz this bad boy loves to eat...and im smoking white... what should i do, check, etc...? thanks ht

i believe white smoke means your rings. i could be wrong. i always get confused. either its your rings that are worn or your valve seals. someone correct me if im wrong.

White smoke = coolant
Blue smoke = oil
Black = fuel

It sounds like a blown Headgasket.
You losing coolant too? does it overheat at all?

no coolant lost at all and im not overheating... so most likely blown head gasket?

white with a blueish tint = burning oil
white smoke that looks like steam with a sour smell = coolant

I dont think so.. he said its not loosing coolant and not overheating.

The key was loosing oil.. some people mistake blue / gray for white smoke

take out your spark plugs and check them to see if your rings are shot

gonna run a compression/leak down test tomorrow... hopefully it's not gonna cost me a grip to get this thing running right.

good compression across the board... dont know whats up... oh well... life sucks as usual for me...
